This Feast of Thanksgiving Party will help you do it with ease.
HP Creative Studio from Hewlett Packard offers FREE Thanksgiving printables for the Feast of Thanks party. Just download the invitations and assemble them according to these instructions.
Inside the invitation include some leaves so they can take time at home to think about what they would like to write on each one to show their gratitude for this year. They bring the leaves with them to hang on your Tree of Gratitude.
How to Make the Tree of Gratitude
- Artificial branches from the craft store or real ones from your back yard
- Large vase
- Items to put inside the vase
- spray paint in color of your choice
- Raffia, ribbon or other item to tie around outside of vase
This video shows you how to choose and paint your branches.
I would fill the inside of the vase with little pine cones and acorns that you can find in any department store or craft store in the fall. There is scented potpourri style cones too, as long as none of your guests have allergies. Or, use autumn colored marbles, river stones, or small plastic Christmas balls.
Then wrap a ribbon or some raffia with fake autumn leaves around the outside of the vase.
Put the Tree of Gratitude where everyone will be congregating, or near the entrance so guests can hang their leaves when they come. Have Christmas ball hooks (makes it easier to hang leaf anywhere on branch) or pieces of curling ribbon available for them to use to hang their leaves. Have blank leaves and a pen available for those who forgot to bring the leaves you mailed them in the invitation.
Will you be asking everyone to read their leaves aloud? Will you just let people stop and read them during the party whenever they want?
Decide how much of a focus you want to put on the Thankfulness, and that will determine where you place the tree.
Create a decoration for your front door or the wall with this Feast of Thanks Banner. Just print and assemble.
Besides getting their mouth watering, the menu also allows guests to see what’s coming and speak with you if they have any allergies or if the children dislike what’s on the menu.
It’s always a good idea to have something simple prepared on the side for the little ones with a picky palate. Sandwiches cut into Thanksgiving shapes with cookie cutters are easy but festive. Amazon.com has large metal cutters in the shape of a Turkey, an Acorn Nutand a Maple Leaf that measure about 3.5″, which is the right size for one sandwich. The local dollar store also carries plastic ones of a smaller size.
I hope this Feast of Thanks Kit helps you add meaning to your Thanksgiving and makes your table a little more festive.
